December 2015
Christmas Light Switch on
Uppermill Christmas light switch on is on Saturday 5th December. we will of course be open as usual during the day, but please join us, after the light switch on and fireworks at Reclamation Room for a warm up. We are aiming to create a warm, friendly, festive family atmosphere, where, as well as our usual delights, you can enjoy our homemade festive treats and Christmas punch, with the sound of christmas tunes and carols played on the piano in the background. Everyone welcome, but you may want to book if you'd like to guarantee a table.
Please phone 07557983095 if you wish to book.
NOVEMBER 2015
Art ExhibitionWe are delighted to be housing our first Art exhibition running until 9th January 2016. It is the 'Winter Exhibition' by Saddleworth group of artists.
We are now open. Please come and see us. We have had a soft opening and are welcoming any feedback, to help us to "Get it right"
We are developing and expanding the menu all the time, and have lots of new things to come at Reclamation Room as a whole...
We have been frantic for the last few weeks, getting the main hall revamped using all of our Style&Salvaged skills and techniques, to create Reclamation Room. Things never run quite to plan, and our venture is no different. So after various delays, we are now finally able and delighted to announce that we are opening on Tuesday 3rd November 2015. (Style&Salvaged is already open and operating from here, in the smaller room temporarily) We aim to have a soft opening, followed by an official launch, once we have found our feet. Everyone is welcome from the 3rd tough, but please be patient with us whilst we perfect the art of barista. After the first week or so, we will be beginning our creative workshops.
Post Community Garden Clear up day
This day was a great success, and we would like to thank everyone that got involved. The garden looked so much clearer once we had finished. Once open we are hoping to develop a community gardening group, that will be able to utilise this great garden/growing space and greenhouse.
September!
We have collaborated with Oldham Council's "Get Odham Growing" campaign, who organised a "community clear up day" for Saturday September 5th 10am-3.30pm. This was an open 'drop in' invitation to anyone within the Saddleworth community, that would like to get involved in clearing up what will become a community gardening space at Reclamation Room. We have a large rear area with a large greenhouse for growing plants, alongside fruit and vegetables. We aim to use home grown herbs in our dishes wherever possible, but want to encourage the community to utilise this fantastic space too. We are hoping that the clear up day will lead onto a community gardening group. Please feel free to come along on the day. If you would like complementary refreshments on the day, please register below. Thank you
Emma
